My daughter and I watched the 10 Commandments this past Easter. It was her first time ever seeing that movie.

Unfortunately Mr. Heston will be most remembered not for some of his memorable roles as an actor but rather for his famous quote as the only three term president of the NRA when in May of 2000, Heston told NRA enthusiasts at a convention that Al Gore would have to rip his gun from "his cold dead hands."

Al Gore probably has no desire to do that (now that he actually can).

When Heston arrived in heaven, Roddy McDowall was called by God to play the greatest prank in history. It was so funny that the angels will be talking about it around the watercooler for an eternity.

On nearly every Easter Sunday when I was a kid, I’d watch the Ten Commandments – all 4 plus hours on ABC. I was disappointed ABC moved it to Saturday night. “Moses, Moses” – my favorite line from the movie.

I remember Heston mostly from his sci-fi movies: Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green, Omega Man (the original version of "I Am Legend"). Also, his turn toward villainous roles later in his career is what I will remember.

I know I'm not gonna wreck Heston's legecy when I say that Heston's best performance was his bit in one of Micheal Moore's films.

DETROIT - A 3-year-old girl found a gun in a bedroom of her home and shot herself in the head Sunday, police said.

One of the girl's parents apparently owned the gun, and at least one parent was home when she shot herself Sunday afternoon. Police questioned the parents and took the gun, the Detroit Free Press reported.

The girl was taken to Sinai Grace Hospital, then transferred to Children's Hospital of Michigan. The Detroit News reported she was in critical condition.

Heston's best performance was indeed in "Bowling for Columbine." It cemented his legacy as a jerk.

Heston's best performance was indeed in "Bowling for Columbine." It cemented his legacy as a jerk.

Actually, Heston must have had a serious lapse in judgment or had an Alzheimer’s episode or something to do that movie.

The TRUE jerk (plus tons of other derogatory names) is the moron that produced it, Michael Moore.

If I was starving to death and the only place for food was the movie theater and you had to sit through Moore’s lies and deceptions to get a meal…….I’d starve to death instead.

If I had watches lining both arms from wrist to shoulder and Moore asked me what time it was, I’d tell him “I don’t know”

One of the truest books ever written; Michael Moore is a Big Fat Stupid White Man (That being said, I'm a big, fat white man too, they just don’t have to write a book about me exposing what a fraud and liar I am)

Michael Moore is a great American, and Bowling for Columbine is probably his best work. It was right on the mark, pun intended.

Michael Moore is a great American

Maybe in your book.

In my book lying, deceptive, pinko, commies are not great Americans.

I thought Charlton Heston was already dead, but then I seem to think that about alot of celebrities who actually aren't.

We watched the 10 Commandments this year - haven't seen it in forever, it was great to watch. Great movie, great cast, etc.

IMHO, that's from the golden age of movies. Technicolor processing (that's those wonderful blue skies, correctly represented on your TV), huge cast, screen play, REAL acting, costumes, sets, oh man!

That's a production.

That was also back when there were great actors.

There are some very good actors today, Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, etc. But I think the age of great actors is past.

However, it takes a great script to help make a great actor. Not very many of those these days either!

Instead, today we get Tom Cruise and Sean Penn. Oh goodie!

I still think there are great actors today however they're not in the movies. The stage is where your great actors are these days.

Absolutely.

That is where the art of it has gone. There is nothing like good stage presence. It speaks to the mind, not unlike a good book does.

Great stuff, and I seriously doubt it will ever die.

IMHO, there will be a kickback on movies. We've moved to special effects (and by the way they are not SPECIAL if they make the movie), and other shock and awe kinds of things that diminish acting.

It won't last.

Good stories, basic drama --the human part of things is what we are built for and enjoy.

Okay, so your point seems to be that "lying, deceptive, pinko, commies" are not bad Americans. Hmm... go on ahead with that attitude and see how many Americans side with you on election day. I'm curious.

NO! Shane your just like Herb and Co. on here in that you read but can't understand what you read. The fascists pinko commies that DUHbya and Co. have become are a GREAT danger to what America is all about. Reading anything different than that is just the kool-aid taking to you.
