Nothing to see here folks. Keep moving along......

"Three-time melanoma survivor John McCain appears cancer-free, has a strong heart and is in otherwise general good health, according to eight years of medical records reviewed by The Associated Press."

Yeah, 800 pages, three hours, closed room, no copies, selected CLOSE group of reporters.

Notice, JOURNALISTS didn't get to really see the records did they, or is that just a slip of the tongue?

Missing, I know it will be fashionable for the radical left to try to make something out of this, but each of the major news outlets got to send a reporter. The fact that there wasn't any problems in the records may be a major disappointment for you, but there apparently just weren't any. Tough luck.

The only thing of any importance relative to any candidate has to do with is there anything in their health history indicating they can't serve as President. Nothing more. Do you really need to know if they've had an ingrown toenail or a hemorrhoid, or are you just obsessed with peoples personal body functions.

On the contrary, it's not the lack of problems that is at issue at all.

Honestly, I hope McCain is healthy and will live his full life. He's been through some stuff and deserves his full due.

My beef is with the constant information management going on. I'm tired of late friday news dumps, lies, manupulations, cheats and such.

I need to trust who is in charge and this kind of thing just REEKS of being untrustworthy. Hate it, seen enough of it.

McCain is not a contender on so many levels it's not even a point of discussion. It's the HOW not the WHAT that just does not sit well with me.

When you are running for President, you are public, period. Nobody cares if he's got some minor league things. Why? Because we all do and that's just human.

Knowing this, means an open release is no big deal, unless there are some issues. See how that works?

It has become a big deal for two reasons. The tragedy channels need lots of fodder, so they beat it to death. The other is that many reporters today are inexperienced and incompetent and have an agenda. The less information you let them get their hands on, the less they have to distort.

Maybe so.

However, we've got others in the race, who will put it out there, and stand tall and run like the solid people they are.

McCain isn't solid and needs every advantage he can get. That's the issue.

Look at all the distorting going on with Obama right now. Does he start to hide, manupulate and play silly games?

No, he confronts it head on, deals with people like adults and stands tall on his merits.

He has merits to stand on.

McCain?

Good points, Missing.

Health is very important to any Presidential nominee. Nobody trusts McCain automatically outside of the 23% and that will not win him the election. If he has nothing to worry about, then he has nothing to worry about. When your medical record averages out to a hundred pages a year, you have something to worry about.

Many people still admire Ronald Reagan, but it is obvious even to the most staunch supporter that his health deteriorated greatly during his time in office. The tragic illnesses of Senators Arlen Specter and Ted Kennedy have also brought the health of our legislators front and center.

A 71 year-old with a history of injury, torture and a temper is already facing an uphill battle. A fellow delivering speeches with cancer scars on his face has to be absolutely clear about his current condition. What matters most is public opinion and evading the question of health is not a good idea.

McCain's advanced age will bring even greater scrutiny to his running mate because of the distinct possibility that he will serve as President. The sitting Vice President is not only unhealthy, but also the most powerful and least popular man in America. The combination of advanced age and distrust means that the GOP second in command will essentially have to run for the top office too.

I usually jump all over Republicans for their hypocrisy (because they deserve it), but if memory serves, one of my favorite presidents, Bill Clinton, limited access to his health records as well.

Regarding Ronald Regan, it’s hard not to see that he was certainly suffering from something, dementia perhaps, into the later part of his presidency. And when he testified on video camera in a legal proceeding soon after his presidency concluded, he was unable to remember key matters or key military personnel. But their again, when at a White House function early in his administration, he couldn't recognize his own Housing and Urban Development Secretary, addressing him as "Mr. Mayor".
