Lets say you were just diagnosed with a terminal illness and had only 1 month left to live.

What would you do with your last month on earth?

I honestly have no idea. I doubt I could come up with anything more difficult to deal with.

Nominate a few trusted people to get the ugly things done after I'm gone.

Ignore all bills and financial obligations, and pay somebody else to make sure my family and trusted others are not harassed over them.

Spend time with family and loved ones, talking about those things we think matter. Play games, listen to music, share time, quit work THAT DAY, no notice, nothing.

A time like this is for you, and those close to you. Nobody else, nor anything else matters.

I would have a Waborita party to celebrate the life lived and you're all invited, just turn in your keys at the door! None of this mourning crap, I want people to remember how I live and not mourn me after I die!

Oh, and Sammy would be the musical guest!

The answer to this depends heavily on what physical state one is in when the diagnosis is handed down. If, as many other respondents have assumed, one is able to function normally to the point that the diagnosis is a complete surprise, this would be my order of priorities:

1) Quit my job effective immediately. What could they do for not giving two weeks notice--fire me?

2) Find somebody to take care of my cats after I'm dead.

3) Make arrangements to have somebody legally sell my house or take possession of it and pay the rest of the mortgage (this would be a pretty good deal for anyone able to make the monthly payments).

4) Spend time with as many past acquaintances and family members as possible to leave them with pleasant memories.

5) Give away my possessions--if you can haul it away, it is yours.

6) Money in bank accounts and investment plans is to be divided up between immediate family members and non-profit/civic/political groups (to be determined).

7) Cadaver is to be donated to medical research or educational use.

Hello Visa card! :-)

Can this thing go over 100 MPH? How is a bad driving record going to hurt me now?

I'd probably stick to my routine too as I already enjoy what I do these days. . . . that even means checking in here!

I'd most certainly square things away to make things easier for the wife and kid. (Goodbye VISA card! :-( )

I really don't see myself doing anything extraordinary as I've done most of the things I've always wanted to do.

Realistically, how many people diagnosed with one month to live would still be in a physical condition to drive 100 MPH, much less across country to concerts?

I agree with Darktemper. Have the big gathering before, rather than after you're dead. I had a former Jr High Social Studies teacher who did this while he was still up to it.

Freak out.
I already went through that with my cancer diagnosis.(part of the reason I'm such a mental case today!)
Luckily it was removed,I'll live. 2 years on December 20th.

Write me up the thread police got me again!

I would spend individual time with close and extended family and talk about the good times. I would eat great food that I would not normally eat/indulge. Maybe see a city/geo area have not seen. Count my blessings again. Make sure everything is right between my fellow man. Will give notice here when it happens!

1 year huh??

Let me see here...HMMMMMMMMM(eyes closing)

The bunny ranch,
Hookers,
Lots of BLOW
Cheese burgers, Cinnabons (with lots of extra frosting spread on top), Steaks undercooked, Jack and Cokes, Vodka on the Rocks,
Skydiving
Bungee Jumping
A threesome
A threesome while stuffing my face with delicious cinnabons,
Great music, and maybe some time spent with loved ones.

I might as well indulge, Im gonna be dead soon, one year is not that much time!

I believe the scenario was for one month, not a year. You may have to edit your list a tad Beano.

Your right Chris, sorry about that.

Now that its only 1 month I don't have time for loved ones. Scratch that off my list.
