There seems to be some decent money in the window treatment business. I've got a friend who does it and he seems to be doing well.

Also, there is a lot of value in purchasing blinds to me as I find them to be a giant bitch.

Hey Deane, what I need is for someone to measure the new blinds and put them together for me.

Does the Blindbarn do that? Thats the biggest pain when I buy new blinds, putting them together. Although I did like the diagrams on your website that was cool.

By the way, are you going to do any advertising on the radIo? Just curious!

Subtle, but funny. Actually, radio reaches too many non-customers. Most of our local marketing is direct mail to new home owners. Word of mouth and repeat customers account for about 80% of our revenue.

The Blind Barn site took 8 solid months of intense daily work to create (not by me). The complexity of all of the pricing by size, options, limitations, colors, brand by brand, etc., was immense.

The reason I posted it here was that I thought you folks would find it interesting what had been going on. There is life after radio.

Sounds like to Deane is putting "her blinds up" (no pun intended) to all the conservatives. Thats a pretty bold, almost liberal thing to do Deane.

Deane... good site, clean & easy to navigate. But answer me one burning q: if a customer submits all the measurements, etc. to you... and then you order the blinds from the manufacturer, then why couldn't the customer order the blinds themselves and (gawd-forbid) cut out the middleman?

Does the Blind Barn have a Braille catalog?

Manufacturers will not sell at retail. They want to protect their dealer structure.
