This shouldn't come as any surprise, but US inflation in June rose at the fastest clip in 26 years, fueling speculation the Federal Reserve may be forced to raise interest rates.

It should be noted that gas prices fall again today to below $135 dollars a barrel.

The Fed should have moved them up a quarter last time they met. They don't have the balls though.

Those in power don't think there's a recession going on right now, and everything is just fine.

(Anyone else read the comic strip Non Sequitur? One of the recent ones featured an interview with fictional Bush Administration Adviser Dr. Roslyn "Rosy" Outlook, who says the recession is supposed to begin on Jan. 20, 2009. When reminded that was also when the next president takes office, her reply was "what a coincidence!")

Well the stocks only tell us how the wealthy are doing.

Not a good indicator for joe and jane American.

IMHO, stagflation is coming, and maybe coming pretty hard.

Amen brother! Now does that realistly mean that those who don't have money in the stock market will in the longterm or shorterm end up in a better situation? IE redistribution of wealth of a sorts. OH BOY I take that back here we come Deane and Herb. YES I ADMIT CLINTON SHARES SOME OF THE FAULT TOO!
