So, ever do any prospecting and come across a gold nugget? This one came up one shuffle a few weeks back and totally blew me away:

Crank It!

PS. Don't worry it's BOC NOT Rick Roll....promise.

I was burning a CD for a friend and remembered this, from Uriah Heep, circa 1982.

Still like it...

The Witch by the Sonics.

Have Love Will Travel is another favorite Sonics track.

The best part of clicking on the link was finding
the BOC live version of "I Love The Night" ... it was a personal
memory moment.

I was the only one in the Portland Radio game to play that song when "Spectres" came out. Everyone else was stuck on "Don't Fear (The Reaper) from the previous album "Agents of Fortune." I hadn't heard this live version from '03 ever, and I haven't heard the studio version in years. Need to go out and pick up a new copy of Spectres. I've been a fan since day one with these guys.

"I love the night
The day is OK and sun may be fun
But I live to see those rays slip away"

Too mellow for the typical metalheaded BOC fan.

Dan "Buck Dharma" Roeser is one of the most underrated guitar players/songwriters/singers there is. In the last 5 years or so I've finally reached a point on the guitar where I can fumble out an almost reasonable facsimile of some of his creativity. Many listeners whom dismiss the music of BOC for it's oft hard edge just don't get the artistry (typical for many who don't play an instrument and simply go by aural emotional stimulus). The BOC was just too far ahead of its time (a good 10 years before the generic metal bands that many of you younger folks love so well came to be).

"Theres so much I can show and give to you
If you will welcome me tonight"

I never could have made it through over 6 years of all night DJing without these guys.

"If only you had been there my dear
We could have shared this together"
