Michelle's floor exercise was solid, but safe. 8.5
Hillary on the uneven bars tonight, but even with big numbers she gets no gold.

Later in the week, Bill is in the Javelin catch.

No, Bill is the Javelin THROWER.

Monica is the one who catches.

I thought it was funny that when the clintons were in pdx, the campaign made sure that bill and monica never crossed pathes. if you don't know. monica lives in pdx. I read it in a mag. article that was a disection of what went wrong with the clinton run for the pres.

Yeah but when the Clintons were in pdx this summer it was as if people didn't even know they were in town compared to when Barack was in town.

Hillary nailed it. She could not have been more clear.

And then CNN interviews some black chick who's apparently a delegate crying and saying that she won't vote for McCain, but doesn't know if she can bring herself to vote for Obama.

What an idiot.

Let's get this straight: You are a black chick who supports Hillary, yet you feel you'll get a better shot at life if Obama loses? Fuck you.

Yeah, she did a good job. Completely polished.

I'm looking forward to Joe tomorrow. He'll pull it off in his sleep.

Cindy, Hillary, Joe and Barack -- all electifying oartors, so when you think about it, the Republicans will be hard pressed to get at least one great speech next week and I doubt it'll be McCain.

What say you about that?

Barack alone will be worth the price of admission. His speech at the 2004 DNC put him where he is today.

I thought the speech by the Gov of Massachusetts was off the mark and Ohio's Gov was just Rah, Rah, go fight win!

I get tired of the Chicken in every pot speeches.

Maybe as part of the process the repub winner MUST speak at the Dem convention, and the Dem winner MUST speak at the Repub convention.

I miss the old days when things actually needed DECIDING at the conventions... no clear winner.... fights to get your guy nominated as VEEP.... Cigar smoke......

Too staged managed... WHY would there have been KENNEDY placards at this convention? "Quick Teddy might be here! Print up 100 signs and pass them out to the group in front of the camera."

"Quick! A delegate from American Samoa has been added as a speaker. We need a hundred signs with Tufu Fa'Alamalalamoa passed out to the folks in camera range."

What's next? "Madge Thornapple, C'MON DOWN! You're our next speaker on The Dems is right!!!!

I'll watch both conventions, but I don't expect to be inspired by the other side either.

C'mon, I want sponteniety, passion, a message.

SELL ME!

JOBS For 'em. Children for them too. Energy. yep need that. Same with food and housing.

You have the whole party under one roof, Hammer out a program and let me know what's in store.

As for the No child left behind.... Sorry, some of them need to be left behind so the rest can work at higher levels. Can't teach those who don't want to be taught.

Maybe a better goal NO CHILD LEFT AT DAY CARE!

A final thought on the nut bag who had ideas on living the killer life.. (saw the Warren Beatty film years ago with the same theme)

I would like to personally apologise for this kooks actions.

reports are that his favorite film was Assassins, with Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas. Since I also was in this film, I hope my part as a hotel bellman did not influence this guys actions in any way. It was not my intention to encourage abnormal societal behavior.

(psssst) no matter what side you are on, don't drink the kool aid...................

I won't watch either convention.

Just a bunch of crooks lying about what they think they want to do. EDIT: After thinking about this, I should have phrased it "Just a bunch of crooks telling people what they (the crooks) think they want to hear.

It's a waste of RF to put it on TV.

I'll watch the Discovery Channel or Food Network. At least there is a chance of learning something worthwhile on those networks.

Thank goodness it's only on for an hour or so on the big 3 networks (of course the programing they are pre-empting is garbage too!). Although KOIN has their "Special Edition" at 8 PM that basically repeats the same trash that was on from 7PM to 8PM.

The really depressing part is that when the new shows start in the fall we are going to have to put up with all the moronic political commercials until November.

I don't watch the NASA channel near as much as I'd like to!

No particular reason. I just forget about it!

I don't need to watch either convention to know who I'm going to vote for. Frankly, and with all due respect to anyone who hasn't already made up their mind, I think any voter who is currently undecided or on the fence is an idiot. Either you stand for something or you don't, and the choices between two candidates couldn't be more clear and different from each other.

I agree. Anybody that lets the watching of / results of the conventions make their mind up is an idiot.

Although if Hillary's speech last night convinced those irrational supporters of hers to get on board with Barack then it was worth it.

To those supporters of hers who are stupid enough to vote for McCain, if he ends up winning, it won't be long before their going to saying "what in the heck was I thinking?"

......"what in the heck was I thinking?"

No matter who wins, someone who voted will be able to say that.

..."I don't need to watch either convention to know who I'm going to vote for."

nor do I, I would just like to hear something with substance. A parade of leaders, and nothing but preaching to the choir. The delegates on the floor are in step. So what is the purpose of televising the convention? A recap in the morning paper ought to suffice. When exactly does either candidate lay out the plans? What and How? After the votes are in is too late? I don't want to find out in January that the winner is going with a 90 percent tax bracket, Mao jackets, and bicycles for all, or 5 years of mandatory military service for everyone 15-60 with those 18-35 spending a mandatory 3 years on the Iran/Russian front and those at home use ration coupons to buy 10 dollar a gallon gas and limited to substinence food purchases and victory gardens!

P.S. Kucinich was a bit Hitleresque

"No matter who wins, someone who voted will be able to say that."

You mean like 78% of the population saying that now?

no, 78% didn't vote for BOOSH. so probably only 35% are saying that.
