$500!

I'll take it easily. Seriously though, taxes are not the problem.

Could cut the whole damn thing, pay no tax at all and still be in trouble.

The real problem is health care, the fall of the dollar and the rise of just about everything else!!!

It's as if I got a 30 percent pay cut, if I look at my buying power per hour worked.

Fix that, and I could care less about that cut.

Amen.

FROM THE SITE:
....Obviously, you'll note that filling out your taxes is a lot more complicated than just listing your income, filing status, and number of children...

That also is a problem that needs fixing. OVERHAUL OF THE ENTIRE TAX CODE! Always talk in DC, but it never goes anywhere.

No deductions, No Credits, No Breaks. personal corporate, You pay what you owe!

under $**,*** 1 percent (everyone pays something)

Figure out a few different tiers and we're good to go.
Top rate of ????? what is fair?
K.I.S.S.

Ever call the IRS for an answer to a question?

They read you back word for word what is in the instruction book. It took me 5 years to find out whether you could deduct After tax deposits to a 401k offered thru an employer. (you couldn't until last year It may change again for the next cycle consult your advisor.)

Used to sit down for a half hour or so and knock out the 1040A... every year it takes longer, some years it's works out better to file separate 1040s
other years the 1040ez suffices. Always questions, one year I get a notice that they pulled mine for audit, 6 weeks later I get an additional refund check for an error I made. No office visit necessary. Still what used to be a snap is getting mighty confusing.......

Well, I certainly agree with repealing Bush's tax cuts on the wealthy, back to Clinton's rates in 1993. And yes, in the 1990s, I was subject at least one year to those higher rates. (Thank you, Intel, for changing the way your stock options are done so they were taxed as regular income...)

I do disagree with Obama on these additional tax cuts, though. I don't want to see any across-the-board tax cuts right now. I want to see an effort to cut spending too and work toward balancing the budget - as Bill Clinton did. John McCain claims he wants to balance the budget too but then he talks about extending Bush's tax cuts on the rich, so you know McCain isn't serious.

Same here.

We've got the interest on Iraq to pay for. That's not a small burden either. The sooner we do some damage on that the better. I also suspect we are going to find lots of un-funded things once we get to see where the dollars really went.

Gonna need to put those back, and work on infrastructure as well.

If the dollar is doing well, then our current tax burden is a non-issue. Combine that with jobs, ideally from some green energy project, and things will be pretty nice for a while.

IMHO, that's political theatre. $500 is not a life changing amount to the vast majority of people, just like the funny money checks Bush sent us wasn't either.

The tax cuts to the middle class will be made up with higher capital gains, higher dividend, and higher estate taxes. My household would save $3000 per year based on the Obama plan, so I support it fully.

Iraq has some 67B on deposit for oil rev. Half of that ought to be fair compensation for ridding them of the evil SAY-DAM. That and say 10 percent of future rev for the next 20 years. payable to the US Treasury not exxon/mobil.

BTW WHAT ASSES thought all those oil mergers were
going to work out great?

Same type of minds that thought companies owning hundreds of radio stations and allowing thousands more to go on the air would be great?

These are the kinds of messes you get when government gets out of the way of business and business refuses to be good corporate citizens or police themselves.

There is no I in GREED

?????WTF??????

yea that's what I thought too.

Good Night David
Good night Chet
Good night Nurse
Good Will Hunting
AND GOOD MORNING VI EEEEEEET NAM!

If I didn't add this nonsense into my posts people might take me seriously and think I'm sane.

Laugh a little or, either you wind up with a hole in your stomach, or a hole in your head........
