O'Reilly on the news that 16 year old Jamie Lynn Spears was pregnant:

"On the pinhead front, 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant. The sister of Britney says she is shocked. I bet."

"Now most teens are pinheads in some ways. But here the blame falls primarily on the parents of the girl, who obviously have little control over her or even over Britney Spears. Look at the way she behaves."

Limbaugh on the news that 16 year old Jamie Lynn Spears was pregnant:

CALLER: Would you tend to think that a family in this position, though, wouldn't you think that there would be a more watchful eye as a parent to be watching over these kids so this doesn't happen to them?

RUSH: I would certainly hope so, but it's long past time for this to happen. The parents here are the culprits!

It's real funny how the opinions of these guys changes when it's they VP candidate who's the parent of the teenage mother. Where is the blame on Sarah Palin? What a bunch of hypocrites.

I think Hypocrisy is a bedrock value of the Republican party, as is clear from this and the other thread about Palin and not selling the corporate jet on eBay. If you are a hypocrite, the Republican Party awaits you with open arms.

Am I new to politics? No.

Am I new to hypocrisy? Absolutely not.

And this is as big as an example that can be provided. I did not make up their quotes, Rush and Billo said it themselves.

So, we would have to assume that Sarah Palin, as a parent of an unwed pregnant teenage daughter, either wasn't watchful as a parent, or as Rush says, a culprit to her unwanted pregnancy.

Like mother, Like daughter.

Both are too ignorant, stupid or ill-informed to understand or take responsibility for their fertility. Last time I was in Alaska, I'm sure I saw condoms at the store. And I believe they also allow internet shopping.

Marvin, if nobody continues to highlight this crap, then everybody will think it's ok, when it isn't.

This is how social norms essentially function.

Being "new" means not grokking that.

Hmm, its only highlighted cause its the Republicans doing it now. I doubt Vitalogy would do the same if it was a democrat.

Political rhetoric of this kind is a form of marketing. The other party's flaws are called out, but one's own shortcomings get magically swept under the rug.

Yep.

Marvin, it's highlighted because Billo opens the door on this kind of crap all the time. It's good for his numbers.
