"[Democrat candidate] Lord Faris, part of a well-regarded family in state Democratic politics, criticized Franken for "angry and offensive public behavior" [Franken's comedy material] and said he'd be too easy a target for [imcumbent Republican Senator] Coleman and his allies.

With 33 percent of precincts reporting, Franken had 68 percent of the vote to Lord Faris' 28 percent."

Heh.

A quick check at:

shows that the incumbent is barely holding on to his seat. Franken has a real chance of becoming a Senator.

He is good enough and smart enough, and doggone it, people like him.

Go AL!!

I am eager to see how he does. After all the comedy, and his stint on AAR, his Iraq tours, it's clear he actually cares.

Maybe he will do some good things.

I guess if the folks in MN are stupid enough to elect a pro wrestler, they are certainly stupid enough to elect Al Franken.

To follow that line of thought Skybill...people are even stupid enough to elect a former baseball owner...twice. So that makes them twice as stupid!

Actually that's 4 times as stupid -- 2 squared is 4 times -- right? (Someone check my math.)

And the folks in a certain eastern state are stupid enough to repeatedly re-elect an alcoholic who got his mistress knocked up and then drowned her.

You bet there are a lot of stupid people out there!
