It has to be abundantly clear to all but the most intellectually challenged (see MIA thread) that the McCain campaign has absolutely nothing to offer but hypocrisy, negative politics, and outright lies. This is the best the Republicans have to offer.

The problem is, the US is filled with so many dipshits that this kind of stuff actually works.

Those Karl Rove staffers that McCain hired are really paying dividends for him.

"The problem is, the US is filled with so many dipshits that this kind of stuff actually works."

A perfect summary of why I'm still worried.

"I got an old ink pen, my friends, and the first pork barrel-laden earmark, big-spending bill that comes across my desk, I will veto it. You will know their names. I will make them famous and we'll stop this corruption," McCain said during a rally at a park in suburban Washington, D.C.

That old ink pen better know how to spell "Sarah Palin".

OK. The stink seems to be the lipstick comment came close on the heels of the lipstick/pitbull comment by Bare A. Cuda. Maybe calculated, maybe not. Doesn't matter just an easy cliche. NON ISSUE DON'T MAKE IT ONE.

Now, want to REALLY STIR IT UP?

Next time the Reps think the Dems are distorting a Big Mac position, Might I suggest a reply along the lines of......

"Hold on here, let's call a spade a spade."

Another harmless cliche that can be blown into all sorts of double meanings.

That ought to be good for complete polarization of the two sides and fodder for the news channels
for a week or two.

I coached youth baseball for 10 years thru the Boys and Girls clubs. Always had a multi-ethnic team till high school age when all the non white and several of the white kids switched to summer basketball leagues. After one exasperating loss at the 10 year old level, a post game meeting included the comment "You boys need to come to practice once in awhile." I rarely had half a team show up at practice, but they all showed up on game day. A harmless comment to be sure. They were ALL BOYS. Unfortunately, one mother took offense at the reference to "BOYS" and proceeded to rip into me, complained to the club about my "RACIST" comment, and pulled her son from the team.

The point? No matter what is said, someone can easily read something negative into a comment and take offense.

RE: Pig lipstick, NON ISSUE, Repoobahs let it go.

Distracting and off message. Stick to ISSUES.

Same for the Demosexuals, don't bite on red herrings. Stick to the ISSUES!

Hey a few drinks and a lipstick pig don't look so much like a pig. Now, Brit Spearz always looks like a pig, lipstick or not!

There will be no sticking to the issues with the Republicans.

That's exactly why they posted up lots of outrage. I'll bet every last one of them knows better, but does not care because they flat out lose on the issues and they know it.

Problem is, they just don't care.

The last cycle of this crap, Obama waited, then did some serious damage.

Now it's the end game. I worry about this same approach because it just REEKS of Kerry and we all know how that went down.

I'm thinking Obama / Biden are gonna have to take the discussion down a peg, tell some good stories and appeal emotionally at that bumper sticker level, if anything just to counter this shit.

Obama made a POOR choice of words.if was trying to be clever, it backfired. this would not be an issure if he choose his words better. IMO. too bad we have this to hear about instead of the issues.

Actually, all Obama had to do was say "... and like John McCain has said repeatedly ... "pig ..."

Had he said it that way, there would have been no fallout, little coverage, and no faux GOP shock.

So, my friends, it's not what you say, it's what you don't say.

Yeah well, that's the Republicans fault.

Like I said, they know better, but choose to make a mess of it. Their other option is to actually bring something of value to the discussion and they don't have much of that right now.

We wouldn't hear about the issues no matter what. That's a huge part of why Palin was the pick!

They lose on the issues, have stated it won't be about the issues, and will work their ass off to distract from the issues, because they lose on the issues.

Did anyone listen to NPR this afternoon? They found tape of McCain, Cheney, and Charles Rangle using the exact same saying in the past. THERE'S your hypocrisy!

Seriously. That's not rhetorical.
