Has anybody seen the original film with Frank Sinatra and a much younger Angela Lansbury?

Then begin to think of Sarah Palin. The right, (including Karl Rove) really don't care that much for McCain. But they know they can manipulate Palin (ie she does not understand how Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were used in the mortgage market, etc.) so she has been put in place as the Manchurian Candidate.

Let's discuss.

Another topic devoted to bashing Sarah Palin. There are ten so far. Very monotonous.

LOL!!

And you counted them too! That's pretty funny DD.

So, do you have a "How Palin is good for us!" thread topic to post up, or is this another, "we should be granting deference" deals?

I don't know anybody that's excited over her nomination. Don't you think that's part of the reason we are seeing the activity? Most of the nation really doesn't like her all that much. Given she runs what could be a 2 in 10 chance of being President, should McCain tip over, that's reason for some discussion, right?

" Chicken are you bored? "

I am a little bored, yes. That's not a terrible thing. I'm just having to kill 2 hours, by the phone here, so I can then go pick someone up from a bus stop. You see, they don't know when they are actually arriving as their travel bus was late leaving their stop. Now they are making an unscheduled stop at Multnomah Falls. Which leaves them unclear about what time they will be arriving in Salem. And in Salem, being some guy hanging out at the bus station for too long - well - it's all too trendy in Salem. So I have chosen to wait it out here.

But enough about me, DD. How are YOU? What's your story, anyway? Do you prefer salty snacks or sweet snacks? What about pets? Got any? What's your porn name? ( Take the first childhood pet name that you recall for your first name - then add, for your last name, add the first street you lived on. My porn name is Patches 168th Place. That's not sexy at all, I know. Yet so fitting....or maybe Digital Dexter IS your porn name. That works better than mine ). What kind of industry do you work in? Do you like music? What kind of music? What was your first concert? What brought you here for the first time? Do you recall? On a scale from 1 to 17, 11 being the highest, how much do you like me? Would you say that the side of you that we see from you in here is even close to how others would describe you in real life? Do you have to, or choose to, wear a tie very often? I don't. I wore shorts, a hawaiian shirt and flip-flops to work today. Have you had any major changes of heart about anything or anyone recently? What brought that on?

...I'm sorry. What was the question again?

Notice how the religious right is quick to defend Palin. She is one of them. A wolf in sheep's clothing. Potentially dumber than Bush and more reckless and arrogant than Cheney.

How anyone on the right can support her is beyond me. She is a complete unknown, and what's known so far ain't that good other than the fact that she gives the 23 percenters a chubby.

Palin ready to risk war with Russia to support Georgia. The only question I have for her is whether she thinks this is god's will as well?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26664074/

In her first interview as the Republican vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called Thursday for NATO to admit the former Soviet republic of Georgia, acknowledging that such a move could lead the United States into a military confrontation with Russia.

And the best part of it all is that it was Georgia who attacked first.

But the GOP is trying to rewrite history. The Russians would not have attacked on the opening day of the Olympics.

Here is the actual account of what happened:

The 2008 South Ossetia War was a land, air and sea war fought between Georgia, on one side, and the separatist regions, South Ossetia and Abkhazia, and the Russian Federation, on the other. Ongoing skirmishes escalated into war early in the morning[26] of 8 August 2008, when Georgia launched an artillery barrage of Tskhinvali followed by an incursion of Georgian armoured troops into Georgia's break-away region of South Ossetia.[27][28]

Within five days of fighting, Georgian forces were routed and Russia troops entered Georgia proper.[29] A preliminary ceasefire was signed on 14 August - 16 August 2008. Following the conflict, Russia withdrew most of its forces, but thousands of Russian troops remain on Georgian soil in what Russia claims to be a peacekeeping role.[30]

Yet Palin says Russia attacked first. Boy she sure is up on her foreign affairs.

Like I said she is the Manchurian Candidate.

One thing's for sure:
The news of the choice of the Republican Vice-Presidential candidate is doing its best to distract everyone from what's really going on in the world, and what's really important to those around us and those we care about.

And in Salem, being some guy hanging out at the bus station for too long - well - it's all too trendy in Salem.
No kidding (I'm fairly sure of what you mean by "trendy"). So is simply riding a bus in Salem.

Manchurian Candidate....

Just GREAT!!! More damn foreigners looking to steal American jobs. Let 'em stay in Manchuria and work there! I remember a time when the japs went in there to clean the place up. Turned that barren region into a cutting edge medical research facility. I believe it was called The MANCHUKO MEDICAL RESEARCH CENTER, A DIVISION OF THE GREATER EAST ASIA CO-PROPERITY SPHERE LLC.
Then as soon as times got a bit tough the Russians moved in and tore the whole place up!

We don't need no displaced Manchurians!

During Palin's interview with Charles Gibson last night she was asked if she agreed with the "Bush Doctrine". She didn't know what the "Bush Doctrine" was.

Skep - I'm not so sure. Alaska has a shitload of oil, and a giant pipeline shipping it some 1,000 miles.

Don't think for a second that those would not be prime targets.

DD has come out of his shell to defend Palin. Where is Herb and Deane?
If Palin would have been Obama's running mate the Republicans would be having a field day. Saying otherwise would be lying.
