"There's a sense of hopelessness, irritability and anger.''

Heck, I've felt just like that for the last 8 years.

If you need help please call you local mental hospital. With the latest run of financial problems they are quite busy so don't be suprised if you get their answering machine:

Hello, and welcome to the mental health hotline.

If you are obsessive-compulsive, press 1 repeatedly.

If you are codependent, please ask someone to press 2 for you.

If you have multiple personalities, press 3, 4 and 5.

If you are paranoid, we know who you are and what you want. Stay on the line so we can trace your call.

If you are delusional, press 7 and your call will be transferred to the mother ship.

If you are schizophrenic, listen carefully and a small voice will tell you which number to press.

If you are a manic-depressive, it doesn't matter which number you press no one will answer.

If you are dyslexic, press 96E3G97L.

If you have a nervous disorder, please fidget with the pound key until a representative comes on the line.

If you have bi-polar disorder, please leave a message after the beep, or before the beep or after the beep? Please wait before the beep after.

If you have short-term memory loss, press 9.
If you have short-term memory loss, press 9.
If you have short-term memory loss, press 9.

If you have low self-esteem, please hang up. All operators are too busy to talk to you.

I wasn't sure whether to share this in the banking thread or in this healthcare thread. This guy has a deregulation solution to everything:

"Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation."

-- John McCain in the Sept./Oct. 2008 issue of Contingencies, the magazine of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Pure genius old boy.

Woman on the bus told me that her mental health case managers are telling their clients to vote for Obama! McCaine would cut mental health. She uses the county mental health system, and 99% of the workers there are Democrats. She didn't know that.
