"What the hell is wrong with that guy's eye?"

Is this an untouchable subject? I had to dig deep to find this story about McCain's eye:

http://www.theyoungturks.com/story/2008/9/25/165541/742/Diary/Is-John-McCain-hav ing-a-melanoma-relapse-

David Letterman seemed to be onto something when he said 'something smells' when talking about McCain bailing on him last night. He had no idea, but he's absolutely right. And the smoking guns to this whole thing might be make up and a droopy eye. . .

. . .McCain's left eye was drooping really low, and it looked very involuntary as well as if his eye was closing without consent from the canidate. This wasn't a pretty sight . . .

I'm going to be honest with ya, I was very disturbed with I first saw this. Here's something we're going to have to consider, whatever is causing his eye to do this isn't soemthing we would wish on something and is likely a condition McCain should seek serious medical attention for . . .

The article goes on to suggest possible causes. McCain does have some known medical issues and his age suggest others.

I bring this up because of . . .

Palin.

His health is a very valid concern. If I was so inclined to actually consider voting for him I would not do so if that meant 3 months in, he kicks the bucket and then we have Palin as President. HELL NO!

Fortunately, no, otherwise we'll have 4 more years that'd be worse than the last 8. Can you live with that?

Na, we'd only have to put up with two years and then the new owners would take control of things.

You know, I read a LOT of " You just wait until the general election campaign, you Democrats. We Republicans are gonna nail you. You just wait." during the primaries. Neither side even had a nominee at that point. But no, Republicans around here were all juiced up for a fight - no matter who got the nominations.

Look, I'm glad it didn't happen and we can all move past that kind of mindset. But quit pretending that the fight is over and that there is no work to do. And also, don't pretend that there is not good reason to have some residual fight considering the threats and promises made 6-8 months ago around here.

But to address your point specifically, MC; I do not believe it is a done deal until Obama is sworn in. Until then, this is all fair game - according to everyone - including you. I'm not chiming in because I want to rub it in. I'm chiming in because it is NOT over.

Ya, I noticed that eye the other night, last week I think it was, and wondered about it. Running for president , never being home , and always having to be " on " is quite stressful. Especially for someone who is 72 years old.

Dont get scared until you see his whole face droop on the same side.

Alright - McCain's eye.

Simple questions;

If it is something that is a symptom of a health issue, should the public be allowed to know about it?

If he is keeping something significant from the public, before the election, does that bother anyone?

If it is insignificant, does anyone think it would be appropriate to just flat out ask him and let his straight-talk answer it?

If it's nothing, he should say so. If it's something he should say so. He's addressed other obvious physical issues head-on ( " I'm wearing this bandage because I had another surgical procedure to fix this or that " ) and not so head-on ( " Here are 28,000 pages of documents of medical history covering just the last 8 years that you can view, in this room, for 3 hours. You cannot take notes or make copies or anything. Good luck finding out anything since I have buried you with so much paper." ).

Someone should just flat out ask him what's going on. It's not like he doesn't know. I'm sure he's had it checked. But, of course, the reason why it will be kept quiet is that it will make him look old and unhealthy. Because something is going on.

Duh.

Has McCain had Bell's Palsy? I had it 2 years ago and will never get back to 100%, and it's definitely more noticable when I'm tired.
