If you have HBO, do NOT miss his special tonight. I always thought he was good - but this is a legendary show. I just watched the east coast feed of it. It'll win whatever awards are available for him to win.
It was pretty much perfect.

Yeah. The sheer direction of that epic was stunning. Mid joke, switch to the arena that delivered the joke best - regardless of the reaction. Risky. Man, that paid off. Rock paces like a panther from side to side, edit to him striding the same direction on stage as he sets the joke up - edit to England for the punchline.
That " Faggot " bit was pitch perfect. I was in awe of that editing. To say nothing of the confidence of his ability to toss out the uncomforatble material, yet say " Oh, I'll bring it back. " And he deLIVERED on EVERY set up.
That material was exceptionally strong and had many flashes of brilliance. Very honed. Tinges of Seinfeld with the absolute professionalism.
That was a classic set. The stage art sets were venue appropriate, his clothing signaled the venue, the jokes were transatlantic and international. It was stunning.

Seeing an integrated packed house in Johannesburg, South Africa laughing together was pure magic.
I agree CJ, the editing was second to none.
So, who else is in a "loving relationship"? Yeah, we are that lucky.
For those without cable, here is a sample.
In many ways, this show was every bit as hard hitting as Never Scared.
If any comedian has inherited the genius and groundbreaking legacy of Richard Pryor, it would be Chris Rock.
