Joe Biden might want to get his facts straight. He said during the debate that 100 million famlies will lose their healthcare, yet there is NOT 100 million people in the US. Not Even close!
What a bonehead! He is talking out of his ass!

Biden’s got to walk a fine line. If he's too aggressive, he might be accused of being patronizing ala George H W Bush and Geraldine Ferro in 1984.

Here Beano, take a shot with me.

" He said during the debate that 100 million famlies will lose their healthcare..."

I don't think he said that.

" yet there is NOT 100 million people in the US. Not Even close! "

Really? How many people are there? Are including dead people?

Biden almost lost it a couple of minutes ago WOW.

But the tide turned quickly once the subject changed to foreign policy. I am waiting to hear
"But I can see Russia from my backyard"

Random observation: I never ever wanna be on television in an HD world. Is it just me or is Biden looking not so healthy? And take the mint and or gum outta your mouth before you go on.

Looks like Biden has a bad makeup job. He looks tired. He's apparently been campaigning his heart out lately and it shows.

CJ, I think he did say 100 million very early on in the debate but then when they were talking about health care he said 20 million.

I tried to back up my DVR (I'm not recording it, just watching it) but apparently it is more than 60 min back.

Hey, we all misspeak at one time or another. No big deal!

In the end, I think Biden answered the questions posed to him and did no damage to ticket. Palin tried to be folksy but didn't answer certain questions. I fully expected her performance to be worse. It’ll be interesting to see if she does more interviews with the media.

Palin did a better job tonight at not talking down to voters as if she was the kindergarten teacher talking to her students.

I am sure she will continue talking this way to the American voters though.

Biden got all chocked up and emotional at one point of the speech. It looked like he was going to start crying. I think those were tears I saw.

I am curious though, how many people did you THINK there were in the United States? Obviously, you just were wrong - not a big deal - but how many did you think there were? Not even close to 100 Million? Technically, you are correct. But you made it sound like there was, like, at least DOZENS less than that.

Biden got his points across as he needed and did no damage to the ticket. Palin spared herself embarassment, but sounded too canned and tended to avoid answering many of the questions. My wife and I both felt she lacked depth and credibility. Overall, not a game changer either way, which makes it a win for the Obama ticket.

She gets extra credit for being able to use "maverick" in a sentence...over and over and over.

Also, her folksy schtick seemed highly contrived, not an authentic trait at all, at least tonight. You can tell she was told to play that up as much as possible. Folksy is what got W. in office and I think we've had enough of that facade. Her true Cheney-like colors were revealed when she said she wants to expand the legislative powers of the vice president.

I was nervous about Biden, but thought he did much better than her, he bombarded her with facts that were significant chinks in McCain's armor. However, all this will be forgotten when the next Presidential debate rolls around.

Biden did fine. He made good points and no gaffes, although he looked kind of tired. Bad makeup job. At one point I thought it was running.

But there was really no upside for Biden or Obama in this debate.

The upside was only for Palin, who as I expected stuck mostly to stock talking points and shifted to them as needed, even raising the issue of taxation out of left field in answer to a question that had not been asked. But, she looked relaxed and confident, looked directly into the camera, seemed much more in command than she did in those disastrous interviews with Couric and Gibson. While she did duck a question here or there - too obviously so - she did score a lot of points and probably reassured some of her supporters or leaners who thought she was incompetent and couldn't speak a coherent sentence (though she mangled quite a few in the debate).

I think Palin "wins" the debate handily because expectations for her were so low, fears of a bad performance so high. I'm guessing she scored pretty well on those dial meters. But I doubt her debate performance will help McCain's prospects much at this point, though she didn't hurt them either.

By the way, once again Biden let pass Palin's false characterization of the Obama health care plan that it would put control of health care into the hands of government bureaucrats. Not true. Americans would be allowed to keep the health care they have if they like it but would be offered the same health care plan offered to members of Congress, and adults would not be forced to have coverage. McCain made the same lie in his RNC speech. I wish Biden and/or Obama would forcefully state what Obama's plan really is. Biden had the chance but instead of pitching Obama's plan, he tried (not too convincingly in my view) to attack McCain's health care plan.

I don't think she seemed that relaxed and confident. She appeared nervous and that is why she mangled a few things. She was wooden and awkwardly blurted out her little folksy words. She probably did exceed expectations but Biden's command of the facts and knowledge of foreign policy and his ability to refute McCain's "maverick" image won him the debate. Also, from what I've seen, several of Biden's remarks resonated strongest amongst most viewers.

Her winkin' at the camera was an embarrassment. Do you trust anyone that winks at you?

I didn't see one minute of the debate. Other more important things going on. Daughter's volleyball game and a high school back-to-school night. Well attended I might add considering all the distractions that could have kept us parents away.

I wasn't as excited as most people were about this debate and from the feedback I didn't miss much. Now it's to the internet and the spin doctor's to dissect this thing until all the blood is drained.

Palin says "nucular," but sometimes it sounds like she really has to struggle to get this folksy mispronunciation to come out.

I was really disappointed with two of the questions in last night's debate:

What promise have you made to voters that you can't keep?

What is your greatest Achilles' heel?

As one should expect, these questions were dodged.

The only force to bear right now is the economy, and that spells doom for the McSame campaign. The Republicans will self destruct and deservedly so. They created this mess with no regard for anything except helping the big get bigger. With the shrub in the White House and control of Congress for the first 6 years of his administration (not to mention Congressional control for the preceeding six years before the shrubster), what we have is a perfect example of how absolute power corrupts absolutely. The American public will show their disdain for the Republicans on election day. The web sites that average out the polls all indicate that many battleground states are all shifting to Obama and the Democrats, and Obama may win by a landslide in electoral votes.

Highlight of the debate was when Biden skinned Vice President Cheney alive in front of 70 million viewers. I bet they had to turn up the intensity of Cheney's pacemaker before he could utter "so?"
