Greg has arrived and Brandon is back!

So, who else is optimistic about the coming Trailblazers season?

I am.

Got Schonz coming over tomorrow morning to record some audio in my studio. I think we are going to have a little conversation.

Hey, tell him my family remembers his efforts and showmanship well. He made the team for us as we listened to the radio play by play always.

I will pass along your greeting Doug. Schonz is a great guy to work with and has turned into a dear friend as well. Sometimes he just calls to check in.

Lets hope this season we can keep these young players healthy. It's a demanding sport on the body.

I am with Missing, please let Bill know that others in the Pdxradio family are looking forward to another season with our beloved team.

We will be watching for his bits too, and wishing that he had an even greater presence on the broadcasts.

This could be a really great year. Like Marianagy said, GO BLAZERS!

I haven't been this excited about a Blazers team in a long time, and it is way overdue.

If the key players stay healthy it could be a very exciting year this year. I know it was just a preseason game last night, but they routed the Kings, and they didn't even have Steve Blake and Channing Frye. Talk about a deep roster.

If you don't have them already, good luck getting decent tickets, this year.

I hope for the best, but there are some mighty tough teams in the NBA and the Blazers have depth, skill, desire, but still are young with essentially no playoff experience.

Expect the refs to call a lot of ? fouls on Greg because he's a rookie. The same for Rudy.

It's exciting to have a great team that will compete on the court instead of racing down Broadway (the street, not the poster).

My hopes are high, but my expectations are realistic. Let's see them get into the playoffs, then watch this town go nuts. If they can do that, and make the second round, then the next championship becomes a real probability.

Steve I don't think this Blazer team has the old facade of Jailblazer past. It's taken time but I think this town can finally put themselves 100 percent behind this squad.

Andy- you are totally right on about expectations. Oden will have his learning curve year. I expect it to be up and down for him, but I think with Brandon's leadership he'll get through it.

Getting to the playoffs should be first and foremost, then we go from there.

I know Schonz will be pumped when I see him tomorrow.

Earth to Steve this isn't the OLD Jailblazers or the current Lakers. This is a new breed...

I think most Blazers fans would take this bunch of truly and honestly good guys, so community-minded, free of the police blotter and idiocy, and their 46-36 record and first round playoff loss ... over the 60-win version of a decade ago, that couldn't stay off the front page of the Oregonian (and not in a good way either).

You have to walk before you can run Trix, and last year's .500 team was the youngest in the league. They have the right GM making the right personnel decisions, the right coach to mold these youngsters together, the right chemistry, GOOD YOUNG GUYS that care about Portland, care about the community and care about taking the moral high road ... it's a great time to be a Blazers fan!

Even with the new Blazers, you should always have some bail money ready. They're all young kids with enormous amounts of money.

I'll take young kids like Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, Martell Webster with enormous amounts of money over young kids like Zach Randolph, Darius Miles, and Rasheed Wallace with enormous amounts of money any day of the week.
