SO the other night I was dropping off my girlfriend who lives in Beaverton. When I was driving home I noticed a new Burger place located on Cedar Hills Blvd, right by Blockbuster. Its called "Five Guys- Burger and fries". The line of people was huge, infact the line was so long it had a line that was coming all the way out the door. So immediately, I pulled a U Turn in the Yugo (almost getting myself into an accident) and headed over to "Five Guys- Burger and Fries. I figured if the line was all the way ouut the door than this must be a DAMN Good burger place.

And guess what? IT IS! One of the Tastiest Baccon Cheese Burgers that i have ever had. My god was it good! Not only that but the barrel of fries were Awesome too. These were not just ordinary fries, these were HUGE steak fries. The portions of Fries are HUGE. I noticed when I walked in there was a lot of famlies sitting at the tables with kids. But this is No kids burger these are Man burgers, They're huge and very tasty.
They are more expensive than say a Carls JR meal, but they are so much better!

If you're in the Beaverton area and looking for a good burger, skip the mcdonalds or Burgerking and head over to "5 Guys."
This place puts "In N Out" To Shame!!!

I think McMenamins' bacon cheese burgers are pretty damned good myself. If only you could get service there. To be fair service at NE 15th/Broadway McMenamins is much better than average for the chain.

I agree Andrew, but "5 Guys" is more of a Fast food type chain. Although they don't have a drive thru, which may end up hurting them!

I think Carl's Jr. is still my fav burger fast food joint, but I think they have gone downhill the last few years. Burgers aren't as good.

I do believe they cook their french fries in peanut oil so beware if you have allergies.

I'm still laughing that JT just did a Yu turn and had to go try it out RIGHT NOW. No going back for the girlfriend. No saying "that's a big line, I'll come back later". Just drop everything and get in line. My kind of guy!

I think my favorite is still the "Ambulance Chaser" at the Nob Hill Bar & Grill.

Believe it or not, there is a blog dedicated to the joys of Portland area hamburgers.

Just had lunch Friday at Five Guys HB&F and agree (for maybe the first time?) with Justin T. A truly great burger and fries. (And I'm part of the weekly lunch at McMennemins crowd.) The line was long, but amazingly fast. Greg Odin was not far ahead of me in line (he spent his 8-10 minute wait for his order chatting with every kid who walked up and signing menus left and right).

No shakes, no brews, no salads, just burgers, dogs, fries and soda. But the best (never frozen, hand formed) burger and (fresh potatoes, freshly cut) fries I've had in a Portland restaurant.

It's right next door to OnPoint Credit Union !

The only problem I have with "5 Guys Burgers and Fries" is that the service is slow and there is always a long line. BUT it is worth the wait!

And hey Merkin, I'm weak when it comes to a good cheese burger!
Id take a good cheese burger over sex any day!

OH and By the way, nobody caught a very important point I made in my first point. "5 Guys is a MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN" IN N OUT". The burgers are better and the fries are better! The only disadvantage with "5 guys" is that they don't serve milkshakes, But really who gives a crap?

5Guys came up in conversation yesterday, so I forwarded yours and TD's comments, and my Father-In-Law instantly caught it, he's on his way!

They live nearby, and tried to get in on Sat, was too crazy...so are going to try again.

Justin: That's longitude with no latitude....
Cedar Hills Blvd at (Craig) Walker Road.

The lines move very fast, and there's free peanuts while you wait.

Hey JT, since you are the resident food expert I have a question for you,

"If you eat pasta and antipasta, would you still be hungry?"

"If you eat pasta and antipasta, would you still be hungry?"

Along that same line;

Since Rolaids consumes 47 times its own weight, if you ate enough of them would you just disappear?
