For all the rhetoric that Sarah Palin has been spreading recently about Barack Obama and his socialist, even communist, tendencies, she is not really one to be leveling such criticism. In an interview with the New Yorker magazine recently, this is how she described how the State of Alasak operates:

"And Alaska—we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs. … It’s to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans."

What's that old saying about those who scream the loudest about someone else's behavior, likely are doing the very same thing?

Seven days from now, none of this going to matter anymore except to the people of Alaska. It's funny how some say this VP run has helped Sarah Palin's standing in the national Republican party. I don't - I think it's cemented the idea that key players in the Party (other than the extreme social conservatives) think she's a moron.

Go down the list:

voter fraud claim - election fraud and caging

wealth redistribution - they do it for YEARS

claim of higher ground - take the low road

promise of peace - endless war

"got him right where we want him" - gonna lose like a dog

clean up Washington - hit the record on corruption

financial security, prosparity - biggest financial crash since the last biggest Republican crash

(BTW: One of these ass hat companies has decided they just can't pay my father in laws pension --should be criminal)

ignorance is strength with these guys!

Still, the idea that this election is even close means a whole ton of us still just don't get it.

I don't...think this election is even close anymore. We might even see a "reverse Bradley" effect, where Republicans tell pollsters they are supporting McCain but when it comes time to vote they secretly go for Obama.

I think it's going to be a blow-out actually.

The question is, how many Senate seats will the Dems pick up?

I hope you're right Andrew. I still hold out skepticism from the previous two elections. I won't be happy until I know for sure Obama has it, even if the call comes early on.

Nope. Gonna go down to the wire like I've said all along.

FWIW, I read somewhere tonight that there was a Reuters/AP/somebody poll that showed Obama's lead had been whittled down to only 4 points, with a margin of error of 2.9 points.

Take it for what it is....another poll.

In EVERY poll taken since September 25th (I think) McCain hasn't been able to register a lead over Obama. Not one. Not even an outlier with a tip of the hat for McCain. Nothing. Zip. Zero. Out of some 250-odd polls.

Whats your BBQ sauce preference? I'm thinking of cooking up BBQ crow for the naysayers. I'm having hot dogs though.

Anyone remember after the 2004 election Herb lecturing us about how the Democrats were on their way to becoming an irrelevant minority party?

A meaningless Reuters/AP poll may show only a lead of 4 points, but the state polls haven't moved for McCain at all, and those are what count. Check out fivethirtyeight.com .

Bill, have you been to any of the candidate rallies? I have. Last rally I went to was McCain's in New Mexico a few weeks ago. You can tell the guy is a loser. (As a candidate, I mean, not in general.) 90% of what he says is simply anti-Obama. There is nothing inspiring about McCain, no vision, no hope, just "You hate the other guy or you're afraid of him." I suspect most of the people at the rally I went to didn't even like McCain - they just hate Obama. That's definitely the vibe I got. And you can't win with that when the other candidate inspires such great passion in his supporters.

I totally remember that!

He hammered MANDATE and Beat the Democrats TWICE, over and over and over.

Then in 2006, RIP delivered the signature line:

Herb, your team took it in the sack!

(love that)

And they did too.

Deane was the other one. Called me a freaking Marxist. A FOX news woman from FL, just tried that with Biden recently too! Pissed Biden off proper.

How many of those have you checked out Andrew?

I've some minor league rally envy. Give us some details, as I've only been on occasion and not recently. Did drive by the big Obama one here. Was with the kids and we almost stopped on the bridge from gawking!

Yup, Herb is pretty much getting what he deserves -- getting reamed by his own reamer.

"A FOX news woman from FL, just tried that with Biden recently too! Pissed Biden off proper."

Missing, if you're referring to the Biden interview with WFTV's Barbara West, the station actually is an ABC-TV affiliate.

Yep, I bungled it. She LOOKS like somebody from FOX, and it was Barbara West that I was referring to. As much as I'm willing to hammer on FOX, it's important to not tag them with crap that isn't theirs.

That would be Babara West the "Jounalist" whose husband Wade is a GOP Media Consultant.

The confusion may be because this interview by West of Biden ran on Fox news:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X346U109Chs&feature=related

And her questions are pretty idiotic. Some of Biden's answers are priceless. "Is that a serious question?" and "Who is writing your questions?" Otherwise, he handled it pretty well I think.

And if you think she came up with those questions all by herself, you're probably wrong. Her husband is a GOP media consultant.

I'm on the McCain and Obama email lists. Today I got an email from "Sarah Palin" (as if she actually wrote or even read the damn thing), and it was titled "Your Last Chance to Stop Obama." Funny, I'm not getting messages entitled "Your Last Chance to Stop McCain" from the Obama camp. That just backs up what I've been saying about the McCain campaign: they have no positive message, just "Obama is bad." And it's hard to win without a positive message.

American taxpayers and the oil companies have spent millions on the infrastructure of Alaska only to see the profits increasingly "socialized" for the citizens of her state. She has been "spreading the wealth around" like a drunk cheerleader with chlamydia. There is nothing more "un-American" than exploiting our national natural resources for corporate profit and strictly local gain.

I wonder how long after the election it will be before her allies in Alaska try to secede? Sarah Palin could be the next dangerous petro-dictator. Especially if she feels spurned and rejected by the millions of "elitists" in the lower 48. Soon enough, Palin, Putin and Chavez could be talking about a partnership. It would dovetail nicely with the past Alaska Independence Party ties to Iran.

Palin spreading (the wealth): "like a drunk cheerleader with chlamydia"

CLASSIC!

But I just peed my pants laughing and I got a terrible burning sensation. Oh wait. I just dropped my 'Hot Pocket™" in my lap. I'm fine. Really.
