Nope. Seen them over ten years ago and that seems like enough for me.

Metallica kicked ass last night. As proof of how good the show was, I'm sporting a nasty hangover and a stiff neck.

Here's the setlist:

That Was Just Your Life
The End Of The Line
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Ride The Lightning
One
Broken, Beat And Scarred
Cyanide
Sad But True
...And Justice For All
No Remorse
The Day That Never Comes
Master Of Puppets
Fight Fire With Fire
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman
- - - - - - - -
Last Caress
Stone Cold Crazy
Seek and Destroy

Overall, I was happy to hear some of the new stuff and some of the old. This was my 4th Metallica concert and they still play harder and faster than any other band out there.

If you don't mind telling, how much were you're tickets Vitalogy? And how good were your seats?

I was with a group in one of the suites, and I paid $75 which included my entry and many ice cold beverages of the malted variety. So, the seats were good, but by no means front row. Having a bathroom 2 seconds away along with hanging out with a crew of people in the suite was a nice way to see the show. I still prefer the outdoor concerts at the Amphitheatre though.

If you watch a rock concert from a "suite" you should consider yourself a tool.

If you watch it from the nosebleed section like you would Mc consider yourself a loser....

Yep, the suite really is a crappy place to see a show. I mean, it really sucked to have a fridge full of FREE beer 15 feet away. And having your own private bathroom 20 feet away, that really sucked. I would much rather be crammed into a nosebleed seat in the upper levels next to the true burnouts like Mc.

I wasnt aware I attended the concert let alone sit in the nose bleed section but had I gone I would have no problem sitting in that section, I am not an elitist jerk.

Oh and thanks trixter for coming to his rescue, If you are starting to feel left out let me know and ill crap down your neck as well.

No you are wrong MC74, the fact that he CAN remember the set list makes him a tool. I went and was so stoned that I passed out.

But I agree, watching a rock concert from the suites is lame.

Missed it...did see them in San Jose when Re Load was out...and recall seeing James and Lars walking down a side entrance to the venue and this....how should I say this..."Pedestrian" yells to James:"Even James Hetfield needs God"....James actually mentioned this street encounter on stage that night....great show.

I saw them once during the black album tour. Played a four hour show with no opening band. Sat about 35 rows back.

A short time after I won tickets from KGON to see the Guns and Roses and Metallica concert in Seattle. Those were backstage tickets.

You're right Mc74, you're not an elitist jerk. You're just a jerk. It takes money and education to be an elitist, neither of which you seem to have.

"the fact that he CAN remember the set list makes him a tool."

Bullshit.

I have a little book with set lists from the Grateful Dead and other bands and concerts starting in pre-internet 1975. And except for the fact that I can't read some of (OK, lot's of) the scribblings that look like Ralph Steadman drawings, they're pretty cool to look back on. Lots of people write set lists at all kinds of musical events.

Before the internet, and before you got your bootleg cassettes, you needed that list. For late night phone calls and letters to your fellow freaks. And somebody still needs to write it down to put it online in the first place, since now I'm lazy and I just need to look up someone else's hard work.

And some old habits just die hard.

Maybe you should read the front page of Metro today. Then apologize silently to them for your comment.

Maybe we should take the quack on a one way road trip to Walla Walla. I bet a quick visit to the Whitman barbershop would give him the style he so desperately needs.

Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" seems to be a fitting theme song for this election night. :-)
Yeah, the post isn't about the show, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyhow. I wonder if any rock stations played it, or will play it, when the polls in their states close(d) tonight.
