The direct mail advertisements that I received from the Gordon Smith campaign win by a long shot: They claim that David Brownlow is a "Liberal Extremist." David Brownlow is a *Constitution Party* candidate! These advertisements claim that Brownlow is a supporter of gay marriage, drug decriminalization, and physician assisted suicide. Brownlow debunks many of these claims on his own website.

Those are funny!

Toys for Tots is a good program.

I wonder why it's for "pre-approved bidders" only?

Skybill: "Pre-approved bidders" is often used when items are likely to get a lot of wild, high bids that the bidder has no intention or ability to honor. They are often charity items, like lunch with Warren Buffett, or a naked weekend with the Jonas Brothers.

I was 9 years old when the Cabbage Patch Kids first hit the toystore shelves. As a boy, I hated those damn things with a passion!

Twenty-five years later, I have to admit that these political candidate Cabbage Patch kids are simultaneously cute and scary. I am amazed that anybody remembers or cares about the Cabbage Patch Kids, and I am even more amazed that such dolls would be made today.

By the way, does anybody remember the parody trading cards that were inspired by these dolls, "The Garbage Pail Kids." They were fun to collect back in the day, and I never understood why they were so controversial. CBS scrapped its plans to launch a Saturday morning cartoon based on the cards at the very last minute, after _Parade_ magazine ran a story about about the planned show. A Mighty Mouse cartoon series launched in its place.

To avoid getting too carried away here, I will say that some of the repetitive voters' pamphlet arguments are pretty wacky. There is one guy (I don't have the pamphlet with me, so I can't recall his name) who on behalf of several measures says something like, "my opponents will try to bury you in voter's pamphlet arguments, trying to impress you with how many different groups they could get to say the same thing." Bill Sizemore also put a story about how he was supposedly railroaded into the arguments for most, if not all, of his measures.

That's how much they PAID the winner(?) to go to it, right?

It still wouldn't be enough!

YUP! Garbage Pale Kids were Awesome! I remember going to Toys R US in the late 80's and finding out that they no longer carry Garbage Pale Kids!
I was pissed! Those things were pretty raunchy and so ahead of its time, especially in the 80's.

By 1990, Garbage Pale kids were GONE!

Check this site out! It lets you view all the Garbage Pale kids cards from the first series!
If you were a kid of the 80's. especially a guy, you will love this site!
