I shot these yesterday. I'm not bragging about the photography; anyone with a camera could have captured this beautiful scene, which some of you have probably seen before - just breathtaking:

(I didn't even realize Trillium Lake was man-made until I looked it up...)

Not so. Many (most?) people just don't have an "eye" for taking great pictures. Having a vision helps too. And patience. While its true if one snaps enough pictures, they'll get lucky every now and then, but only true artists can consistantly take photos like the ones in your portfolio!

My hats off to you!

Andrew, I've always liked your work. Have you ever done any work using a " shift / tilted lens "? It tricks your mind into seeing the picture as a miniature type shot.

Examples -

I understand that the lens itself may be quite expensive. But I am looking for someone to do a quick couple shots for a project.

Let me know.

Thanks. (And thanks Skep!) CJ, I haven't yet played with this kind of photography you mention. But one of my neighbors works for Lensbabies, a local company that makes these types of lenses. Another friend of mine showed me one of his Lensbabies and had pictures similar to these - like the ones where just one small portion of the frame is in focus. So I know what you're talking about anyway. I know some people like it for the effect but it doesn't really grab me. I imagine it has uses in advertising, etc.

Actually I'm still just getting started with HDR photography! I'm way behind on that. I shot some St. Johns Bridge images in the last few days that I've been trying HDR on - not great results yet. HDR is so popular that I feel obligated to start using it for some things...
