Here's the deal. PDXRadio has seen a lot of traffic. Dan has done a good job of it overall. Sometimes stuff happens. We hit this place pretty hard at times, and we hear absolutely nothing about that, but for a very low key donate page.

The timing of this, and the post-election quiet time is kind of a nice breather actually. No big deal.

Suggesting that Dan somehow deserves that kind of comment is just low, all things considered. If it were my site, and I'm glad it's not, I would give you the boot, and feel damn good about it.

Dan probably won't, and that's something to think about isn't it?

I've got some funds coming up, and have already planned on sending a bit over to Dan, just to say thanks for an AD free, simple, clean community discussion board that I and some great friends get to hang out in.

It's an easy decision, plus I'm sure he's picking through a mangled dataset right now, and maybe wants a cool one, or dinner, a new toy, or maybe just appreciates the "thanks".

There is one other thing about this site, and that is the quality and consistency of many of the contributors. We make it too you know. All of us.

PDXRadio really is what those who choose to visit and contribute make it out to be.

Pissed at the lack of content? Well, nut up and post up some material! There is plenty out there, and if you reconsider being such an ass, you will find some great conversation comes out of it, and you probably will learn something interesting.

Historic notes: "A_zone" was my very first handle on this board, circa 2004. It stood for "Answer Zone", a reference to an article I used to do for Evergreen High School's student newspaper only two years prior. I had to abandon that old handle because I was in the labourious process of scrapping my (rather $h!tty) AOL service, but for some reason or other, the registry system Discus (the software this forum is built on) uses wouldn't let me file it under the Yahoo webmail file that I was also using at the time. It's been technically "suspended" (i.e., I can't even log into it and post using it any more) and remains so to this day but interestingly enough, my old A-zone Profile page is still there.........

And no Merkin, I'm not Reinstatepete. Never even met him outside of this forum.........
