You really like your bandmates and have stuck with the same sets of cover tunes that have begun to create a little bit of a buzz around your local bar scene. You're not intersted in playing The Rose Garden. You like the club scene.

Describe your best show you ever dreamed of. Just you and your mates, playing well-chosen tunes and playing them well. You are popular and rarely do any wrong. You are on the top of your game. Everyone in town is buzzing about you playing your homecoming gig.

How did it go? What song did you open up with? How did you take the stage? What did you close with? What songs were in the middle?

Great thread idea! Gotta ruminate on it.

I would have an '80's dance cover band. Man, If I'm going to play the same cover songs every night, the audience is going to have to partipicate. Having the audience just sit in chairs and WATCH me play doesn't do it for me.

No flash - just decent PA equipment and an ultra SOLID rhythm section.

I'd open with ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man". The rest of the list would range from Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" To Fleetwood Mac's "Gypsy."

I'd end the show with a long version of something by "Stars on 45" :-) and stop playing when the last couple has collapsed.
