Does this station sound low budget, or what? What's up with all the PK liners? Also, what kind of idiot set up 107.5's audio processing? The bass is distorted, and the overall quality is muddy and squished. (95.5's audio sounded much more crisp and clear.) Plus, 107.5's copy of Lil' Wayne's "Lollipop" sounds like a 32k MP3! WTF?

Not say your jumping the gun...but COME ON. Is it not unprecidented for this exchange of talent-staff-websites-imaging-to cross town? I would not want to know the details. Give them time I would bet after the chips fall and kinks are worked out things will sound fine. Does anyone know what the price for the entire station/playhouse or at least a round about figure? It would be very interesting to know just incase I end up winning the lotto and need a syndicated morning show in my kitchen.

Hey Xpert, I have to agree. Having PK voice all the liners doesn't sound very professional. I hope Jammin 1075 spends a little money and Gets St. John from San Francisco to do the voide work he is AWESOME! I think he writes the copy too, the stuff he did for Jammin was hilarious!!

Here is one quick point that nobody has addressed about the Playhouse. 2 of the best members of the show are GONE. Sonny and Scooter.
So Really this is not the same Playhouse. Its too bad that they lost Them, Sonny was the brain of the show and Scooter added a lot to the show too. Hopefully they can pull off the show without them.(i'm guessing CBS couldn't afford all of them, Sonny and Scooter were with the show from the very start)
I Really hope 1075 spends some time, money, and effort with this station. If they don't, 1075 is going to always sound like the inferior version of Jammin. Hire some good, solid, LIVE air talent in the different day parts and HAVE FUN!

Yes, I would love to hear St. John on Jammin' 107-5! (He's also the voice of Denver's KS107-5.)

The new Jammin' 107-5 lacks variety, and the more "Urban" titles. Eugene's 94-9 Jamz (market #150) sounds much better, and that's pretty sad! Hell, even the Rhythmic station in Yakima sounds better!

Yup, I hope jammin gets ST. John Also. Another station that uses St. John is 104.7 KDUK. They recently got him and that station sounds GREAT!
I have a feeling that once this station gets up and running the variety will increase, because the variety is REALLY POOR! There is NO WAY Jammin 1075 will last unless they increase the variety!

The good thing about St. John is that he is Over the top, he is in your face, and whether you like him or hate him, you know exactly what station he is on.

Come on Justin Scooter was useless. And was Sony fired or did she quit? Whether she was the brains of the show or not I am not quite sure about that but she was no doubt the most intelligent of the crew.

"There is NO WAY Jammin 1075 will last unless they increase the variety"..hmmmm wasn't this the same thing also said about another Pacific Northwest Rhythmic chr about 2 years ago?? That they wouldn't last if they didn't increase the variety or more importantly wouldn't last if they didn't play any old skool?? St. John is good..but 10 plus years as the same station voice on Jammin? Most normal rhythmic/mainstream chr's change out their big voice every 2-3 years.

Didn't scooter quietly leave a while ago?
Aren't corporations known for "maximixing" what they have while "minimizing" costs? Did you expect them to bring over the entire station. I'm amazed by the complaining about both stations so early in the 'cough' game.

I was wondering about Sonie's departure, also. She been gone for a week or two. I don't get to listen to 5 hours of PH every day -- but even so, have heard NO references to her leaving or why she's no longer there. Unlike what happened with Scooter. PK talked about it on the show. They even spoke to him about being fired, and how he was looking for a job as an accountant.

I tuned in this afternoon (Friday) and it was soooo Movin' sounding.... a machine, playing songs with grade C drop-ins between. Used to be, a few days ago, a pretty good female air talent on Jammin' PM drive, but not now. Tick, tick, tick, tick...

That was Stacey Lynne, and yes she was awesome! its too bad she was stuck on Movin. I hope the people at CBS bring her back to Jammin 1075 because she is one of the best female talents in portland and would be PERFECT for afternoons on Jammin 1075!

If ole Shelly Hart is ok for mid-day at KUBE in Seattle, then Stacey Lynne could be just fine for Portland. In fact she may be much closer to reality for this market than most!

Uh, in my humble opinion! :-)

And I didn't mean to sound so harsh, it's just crucial that you sound correct while kicking off a station, especially when you've gotten all that free press and coverage on 95.5.

Has anyone else noticed that the new Jammin 1075 is playing the same 7 songs OVER AND OVER AND OVER??? Infact, I think It;s playlist consists of 7 songs. I've never heard such a small playlist in my entire life. I agree that the station is sounding good, expect for the fact that there is no variety in the format. Is there a reason for this?
One thing about Jammin 95.5 is that back in its heyday, there playlist WAS HUGE!! They were the FIRST station to play all the new hip hop even before Z100!!! Infact i think that was part of their success, they always played the new hip hop first.
1075 should take note.

Hey Xpert I agree, he sounds great! i just hope they can come up with some creative and funny liners for him to say. On 95.5 St john would always be making fun off britney spears or some other celebrity in his promos. But Im thinking Mark Adams wrote it out, and St john voiced it. What ever it was, the promos he did for 95.5 always had some humor in them, which is great to hear instead ot the usual boring, liner card sayings.
Hopefully 1075 will get creative and make some funny promos for him to voice!

Im just looking forward to hearing some good air talent on Jammin. I hope they can at least get Stacey Lynne back.

One thing that jammin 95.5 had was LIVE JOCKS, they did very little voice tracking. They were live, they had fun with the callers and it sounded great.

She ain't coming back, pure and simple. She was fired because she wasn't worth the money, her ratings stunk and she couldn't connect with the audience. She was an ego.

The ratings stunk because she was on a failed format! If you look around at all the movin's across the country they are all doing awful. Rick Dees who had high ratings at KIIS can't get ratings on Movin because the format is awful, Plain and simple. Movin is a Flavor of the month, they will all be gone in a year. Even the best talent in the country could not save that failing format.

Rebecca Webb and Stacey Lynn were let go because of budget cuts. Both are really good talents, but companies always like to chop out the people that are making the most money in a company. Thats why Inessa was let go from Mid-days at kink. (She was making too much money!) It had nothing to do with Talent, both are extremely talented. I've met Renbecca Webb twice and she is extremely professional and sounds great on the air. Stacey Lynn is a killer talent and was part of the reason why Z100 Was so huge back in the day!(she rocks, and has the pipes) Best of luck to both of them. Im sure we will be hearing them both back on the air really soon!

Movin in Seattle is number two, 18-34. They're (significantly) ahead of Kiss 106.1.....which is interesting.

In my opinion it's because they broke away from the model that most Movin' stations appear to be following. They have live and local talent. They sound good.

I've been listening to Jammin lately, and while they are playing some new music, there are quite a few songs that they should be playing right now. Like

Lupe Fiasco "Superstar"-(this guy is coming to the Rose Garden with Kanye West) jammin SHOULD be playing him!

Kanye West's new single called "Homecoming"

Too Short "Blow the whistle".

These are songs that Jammin SHOULD be playing right now.
Wild 94.9 in San Fran have been playing these songs for the last few weeks. Whats taking Jammin 1075 so long???? They need to keep up with the new music!!!

Imm not trying to bitch and complain, but Jammin needs to keep up with the new music and have more variety. I've heard "touch my body" by Mariah Carey twice in an hour! That is insane!
Jammin needs to be playing more hip hop and less hits!!

I agree with Beano. 1075 needs to play a lot more of the new Hip hop music. They are starting to sound like a lighter version of Jammin 95.5
They need to be FIRST with the new hip hop. That was always Jammin 95.5's selling point. They played the new hip hop first. Im amazed how poor the variety is on 1075. I'm hoping it will get better.

Yup, the new format on 1075 is really bland compared to the music on jammin 95.5 I was listening last night and heard Mariah Carey "Touch my body" followed By Alisha Keys "No one".
Talk about bland! IF they don't focus more on the new hip hop than this station will tank. It already starting to sound inferior to the jammin 95.5, musically that is!
Kanye west is coming to town, and they are not even playing his new single. They are playing Kanye but its stuff he came out with last year.
BUT Jammin 1075 is still new and still in transition mode, so I will give thems some time to get the music figured out.
