Eydie Bowen lost her battle with cancer. She was 59 and among other things, worked for KINK and KKJZ.

Eydie also had the very first airshift when KDUK Florence/Eugene originally signed on 104.7 Friday, November 21, 1983 at 7 p.m. with an AC format.

She later moved to nights on KZAM-FM (AAA format) Creswell/Eugene. I'm thinking she was part of the original line-up that signed on this frequency (95.3) as well. I will try to listen to an aircheck of the first day for possible clues this evening.

I knew Eydie and her husband Rick Young who works for WB country promotion in LA. Here's some more radio history for Eydie:

Her radio credentials include smooth jazz KIFM/San Diego's original morning co-host; CBS Radio's triple A KINK and former smooth jazz KKJZ, both in Portland, Ore.; and, most recently, part-time for CBS Radio's KTWV (the Wave)/Los Angeles.
