Cabo Wabo Radio as you all probably know is owned by Sammy Hagar. Sammy and I became great friends when he was on Capitol and Sammy's manager,Ed Leffer, was the smartest guy I ever met in the music industry. He knew all the deals, all the people, and all the right moves. His business acumen rubbed off on Sammy. Sammy built up his club in Cabo San Lucas and even spread the club name to other markets around the US. Sammy decided he had to have his own brand of tequila and came up with Cabo Wabo Tequila. His tequila was so good that he ended up with distribution deals with many big chains including Costco...and as you know, when Costco gets behind something the sales skyrocket. About 6 months ago Sammy sold the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand to one of the biggest liquor distributors in the world. The price? Sammy sold 80% of his company for $80 million dollars!!! Sammy is truly one of the nicest guys you will ever meet...and his success is well deserved.
