I noticed, the tv stopped on it and there was nothing there, until i went to the other tv.
Now there's 5 Opb and 5 TBN channels, are the commercial channels going to add more video?
Still don't receive Kbxg Digital. I get all Portland channels digital except Channel 22.

I get KPXG which has 4 channels (ION, Ion Life, Qubo and Worship) but the signal really sucks a lot of times. My UHF HDTV antenna only works of course on UHF channels and KPXG runs on digital channel 4.

Use your VHF antenna for KPXG. You are going to need both UHF and VHF come February or shortly after anyway. May as well get set up for it now.

10.5 ID's itself as "OPBTest". Audio-only (i.e. black-screen) rebroadcasting KOPB-FM 91.5's signal. EPG title is "OPB FM Test" and its description states:

"This is a test channel, subject
to removal at any time."

OPB has been doing this since Monday or Tuesday, I think. There's also a 10.7, IDing itself as "OPBFm". It's a simulcast of 10.5. For some odd reason some receivers won't be able to receive it (like my Panasonic DMR-EZ27 or my new Digitalstream.) My Pansat and my folks' Philips HDTV can receive 10.7 with no problem. Go figure.

There's no 10.6 being broadcast right now!!

Oddly enough, all the audio I have heard on 10.5 on any of my receivers has been all mono.

I wonder what they're trying to test by running so many different sub-channels....

Receiver compatibility?
Quality degradation from cutting the bandwidth?

Beats me.......

I haven't noticed any real significant degradation of quality myself.....of course, I am also viewing OPB's ATSC channel on a 4*3 NTSC set through the component video inputs, so that probably makes a difference.

On the other hand I have noticed that 10.3 "Create" and 10.4 "Oregon Channel" have always had sort of a "hazy" look, like a bad JPEG picture or the image from a movie projector with a really dirty lens. Could OPB be compressing those channels more heavily to allow more bandwidth for 10.1 & 10.2???

But as far as compatibility goes, I'd say that theory is spot-on. My Panasonic box often chokes when it hits 10.5!!

"Comcast coming Monday morning."

The HDTV you get from Comcast or other cable outfits is not the same as the HDTV you will get over the air. It is compressed more.

"I heard there was another PBS sub channel. That OPB is currently not carrying call V-me."

No, OPB doesn't carry V-Me. I don't know of anybody in this area (i.e. Oregon & Washington proper) who does.

...........maybe since we have Telefutura (Ch. 38, really weak), Telemundo (ch. 56, last I heard, if so it's really weak as well) and Univision (ch. 47 & 16) I'm guessing OPB must figure V-Me can't compete, at least here??

There was also yet another PBS subchannel called "PBS YOU", (stands for "Your Own University") which went belly-up a few years ago and has long since been replaced (for the most part anyways) by "Create". I don't know if OPB ever carried YOU or not.
