I tried to bring this up on an existing thread but no one bit. K-Hits is running their entire playlist. Unlike some such occurrences, this one is supposed to take a couple of weeks! That's a long time for what is basically a hit music station. It makes me wonder if there isn't something at the end of all this, a musical adjustment or something. This isn't KINK! People have a certain expectation when they tune in and for about 2 weeks, it won't be there! Don't get me wrong; I think it's great to hear "Hot Smoke & Sassafras" and "Overture from Tommy"! I just don't think their P1s will be all that crazy about it.

Calm down now smooch, don't get your panties in a bunch.

Their p1 fans were gonna drop like flys if they didn't increase their playlist. This is long overdue! Good job K-hits!

I've been hearing more 80's songs being added to the playlist. Infact lately I've been hearing 80's music form The Police every time I turn on K-hits.

I listened for a while this afternoon around 3PM. I must say that is the best I have heard them sound for a long time. Stuck on "R" and Rock and Roll. Actually, not stuck but it was great hearing songs that are not normally played. If they played cuts like those more often, I would listen more often.

Unfortunately, when they will have finished with "Z", they will probably revert back to their normal practice of the limited same old same old token tunes.

Wow! They are playing 1980s music on K-Hits??? Could this mean that K-Hits is going to morph into what Kool 105.9 was when it launched?

I consider myself a P-1 for K-Hits and I like hearing the "oh wow" factor songs like "How Do You Do" & "Julie, Do You Love Me" It gives the station some flavor and a sense of "what will they play next?", which I think is a very important function of any successful radio station.

I agree if your never getting surprised with the musical selections than the station is not doing its job.

My comment to K-Hits was great job on the A-Z event and that I hoped the "whole" playlist would become part of the regular rotation. I didn't hear a great shift into the "80s;" 1978 and 79 were not the "80s" and there have seemed to be more songs from that range. I was more mindful of the early 60s stuff. Anyway, good job to whoever put the A-to-Z event into play. If it was my decision to make, I'd continue the A-to-Z format on weekends.

I was referring to the early '60's and a few from the '50's. It seems that those programming "Hits from the '60's" seem to think the decade started in 1965-1967 somewhere, and forget, or don't know, that the '60's started in 1960 and had lots of good selections from 1960-1965, most seldom ever played on '60's stations.

I suppose that is OK, considering I feel the best decade of music AND live and local DJ's was 1955-1965. It was all independent, local, live and high energy back then. That era is gone and has not been the same since. Probably never will, either.
