KFIR (720 AM) was supposed to switch to a spanish language format. What happened?

I tuned in a few weeks ago, and I heard English-language talk programming on 720. There might have also been a block of country music programming.
EDIT--I checked the website, and I see that they still play country music on the overnights and weekends.

I hear Dennis Miller mid-days...signal in Salem is hearable but modulation could be lots better...need an Optimod but could the old/new 10kw TX handle it?

At 720 AM, KFIR's 10,0000 watt signal should come in crystal clear in Salem. Yet the signal is fair to poor.
KPOJ had a much better signal when it was 5,000 watts.

Trivia: The KFIR call letters were originally assigned to what is now KBBR North Bend throughout the 1950's. Before that, the KFIR calls were assigned to the vessel "Empire".

Sweet Home isn't really a Spanish language area, which is probably why they went with an English Talk format.
