This is what I posted on November 3, 2006:

"The most appalling call was heard on The Tom Leykis Show in the 5pm hour. Leykis broadcasting live in Portland from Barracuda today talked to a woman that confessed to killing her ex-boy friend after he quit his job so she couldn't collect child support. She told police that he kill himself and they believed her. The case never went to trial. Tom Leykis said in all the years of broadcasting he's never taken such an appalling call. Leykis has offered $5,000. out of his own pocket to anyone who knows her and if a court convicts her. Leykis will replay the call in the 6pm hour."

Update from R&R:

-----------------------Leykis Help's Solve Murder-----------------------

By Mike Stern

A phone call to Westwood One syndicated personality Tom Leykis’ show may result in murder charges being filed in the death of a Phoenix-area man that had been ruled a suicide.

On November 3, 2006, Leykis took a call from a woman, who would only identify herself as "Sue.” She told Leykis that when the father of her child quit his job to avoid paying child support she went to talk to him about the money and shot him.

The caller said when the police investigated the incident they believed the "blubbering crying woman” that the man, Tortsen Rockwood, had shot himself. She also bragged that because she's a nurse she knew where to aim.

When Leykis told the woman his system captured her number and that she had just confessed to murder on a national radio show the woman said, “But people call up and make stories [up] all the time, Tom.” Then the line went dead.

Police have been investigating the case ever since and have identified 30-year-old Megan Suzanne Vice as the caller. The East Valley Tribune reports that police have filed a "reasonable cause statement" affirming that they believe Vice killed Rockwood. She will likely be charged with first-degree murder and obstructing a criminal investigation.
