I noticed Bozyk wasn't on the air at the end of the week. Checked the KUFO web page and he's no longer listed. Anybody know what happened?

See the "Changes at CBS, Portland" thread. His departure is covered in detail.

The writing is on the Wall with KUFO. Their time is limited. Getting rid of the best talent on that station(Bozyk) is a sure sign that KUFO will be blown up, once the station is sold off.
It's too bad a great rock station is getting destroyed by corporate greed. Once that station is sold off, the house cleaning will begin. I wonder if Kufo will even still be a rock station when they get bought out? And the question is not will they get bought out? It's WHEN will they get bought out? If I worked for CBS, specifically Kufo, I would have my resume updated and ready to go because I'ts only a matter of time before the station gets sold off.

RIP KUFO!

Thanks, missed that. Big loss to the station. Not sure what they are doing.

I agree that a "leaning" of certain CBS stations is happening in preparation for the big divest of Portland stations, however I am of the belief that a station similar to KUFO can and will come out of its eventual sell. KUFO has become to me in the past year a station that I can no longer tolerate. I think more than anything else its that the playlist is not diverse enough. The on air personalities are there but the playlist IMHO is not diverse enough. With the right ownership and I do believe when the sale is completed that the new owner will keep and improve upon the current format.

KUFO still exists; post-Bill Prescott, post-Al Scott, post-Craig The Dogface Boy, post-Howard Stern, post-Dave Numme, post-Boomer, etc.
IMO, It's crazy to think this will be the end of the station. Maybe they'll get sold to an owner who believes in the format. Maybe the market will continue to deteriorate and CBS doesn't sell the stations they wanted to after all.

To me, Kufo is the only music station worth listening to. I can't stand the crap they play on 94.7 and KGON plays the same stale songs over and over. If kufo gets sold and they change the format, I will be listening to My IPOD only. Plus
there is no guarantee that Kufo will be sold, kink and K-hits have just as much chance of being sold as KUFO does.
I think it would suck to be at any CBS station right now because you just don't know whats going to happen, and who is going to be out of a job next. Sounds like Jammin is the only safe station in the whole cluster.

I just pray to god that Clear Channel doesn't get their hands on these station.
Can Clear channel buy more stations in portland if they want??? I sure as hell hope not!

Justin--there were a lot of people who prayed to GOD that CC would not buy the station they were working for.

I actually think that would be slightly funny if Clear Channel bought out Kink.

Dave and Shela would still be doing the kink morning show, except it would be voice tracked and pre-recorded the night before. HA! You know that will happen if Clear Channel gets their hands on KINK!

If I was Dennis Constantine, I would be saying a few "Our Fathers" and a couple "Hail Mary's" on a daily basis, praying that clear channel doesn't take over KINK!
