--------------Western Oregon U. Launches Football Network--------------
WESTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY is launching a radio network to carry play-by-play of the school's football games. The WOLVES RADIO NETWORK consists of KCCS, LLC Religion KPJC-A/SALEM, BICOASTAL MEDIA Talk KLOO-A/ALBANY and MOUNTAIN BROADCASTING Talk KOHI-A/ST. HELENS; the school also lists KMVS-A/MONMOUTH, a station that is not listed as a full-power FCC-licensed station. The games will also be streamed on MIDVALLEYSPORTS.NET. Associate Athletic Director RUSS BLUNCK and BEAR BLUNCK will call the action.

"I have wanted to have a radio network for quite some time, and the Mid-Valley folks really helped get the idea up and running," said RUSS BLUNCK. "We got a late start on it this summer, but we really look forward to growing the network in the coming years. WESTERN OREGON is truly 'OREGON's Team.' We have kids from all over the state like no other university in OREGON. We think we can eventually have radio stations on board with the WOLVES RADIO NETWORK from all across OREGON."

Great job!!! While I enjoy watching Div 1 college football, they have seen fit to price me out as a fan. Western Oregon plays a very entertaining game of football. When they were only on 1220 out of Salem, little 'ole 1240 AM in Corvallis would always bleed through.. so it was hard to listen even during the day... and then later in the season when the sun would set early before the games would be done and 1220 would drop their power, well... 1220 would go bye-bye in Corvallis. Great to hear I will be able to listen to them on a local mid-valley station...

Are they that hard up for programming at KOHI?

Who will really care that much in St. Helens about WOU?

Way back in the day, I did play by play for the Wolves on KWIP.
Don Costas was the play by play, I was color, then Don had a heart attack and didn't live long, so the owner says "your the play by play man now". Oh my.
It was fun though. The current head coach at Central High was our star running back now.
So, glad to see the Wolves will get some pub!
