------------'Jesus Christ Show' Adds Miami, Portland Affiliates-------------
PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS' "THE JESUS CHRIST SHOW" adds CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WIOD-A/MIAMI and ROSE CITY RADIO Talk KXL-A/PORTLAND to the affiliate roster. The show, created and produced by NEIL SAAVEDRA, originates from CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES SUNDAYS 6-9a PT and airs on CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WFLA-A/TAMPA, WRNO (RUSH RADIO)/NEW ORLEANS, KOGO-A/SAN DIEGO, and KNST-A/TUCSON and CBS Talk KXNT-A/LAS VEGAS, among other stations. KXL will add the show o SEPTEMBER 28, while WIOD has already added the show to its lineup.

WIOD PD KEN CHARLES said, "In today’s world, a show about morals, ethics and values is the perfect vehicle to make people stop and think. No show can change a person, but if you can make them think, you’ve really accomplished a lot. This show accomplishes that."

KXL PD JAMES DERBY added, "We’re excited to bring THE JESUS CHRIST SHOW to the PORTLAND airwaves. KXL is home to some of the best Talk radio programs and THE JESUS CHRIST SHOW is the perfect jump-start to our SUNDAY lineup."

-I want audio of Derby saying "The Jesus Christ Show" twice in two back to back sentences without laughing or sounding incredibly forced.

I, for one, am happy to hear this news.

A smart assed PD once said, "You'll be back on the air when Jesus Christ gets an air shift!"

Heard the show while in LA a few years ago...basically a christian/ethics/morals question program that's targeted to the general population "hosted" by a gifted communicator with the unique angle and not offensive to the Christian community...web site from KFI...

What kind of music is He going to spin? Can we call requests in to Him? Is He going to have a wacky crew of sidekicks?

There's plenty of "Jesus Christ" TV shows... in fact there are entire channels dedicated to it.
I'll take a live "Jesus Christ Show" I can attend in person on Sunday mornings over one on the radio any week, thank you. That's where it belongs anyhow. :-)

Years ago, live radio broadcasts of church services seemed to be commonplace, at least in the places where I lived. Maybe this is still found in small and medium-sized markets. Here, however, the only ongoing live radio church service that I am aware of is the First Presbyterian service on KKPZ.

I know that the format of this program won't be a church service. I was just trying to say that this program (a Sunday religious program on a station not dedicated to religious programs) seems to be trying to fill a very similar niche.

Beano--

No, last time I checked, Satan was Clear Channel's *CEO*, not an employee!

Thedude, Jesus already has his own TV show.......

(I will now proceed to flee in an orderly fashion to my private bomb shelter, in order to escape the destruction Broadway is now liable to inflict upon me.......)

Are they still around? The last times that I remember hearing Jesus Presley on the radio were back in the late 1990s, first on KXYQ's "The Morning After Show" and later on a holiday special on KMHD. I helped to engineer the KMHD broadcast.

In Ireland and Northern Ireland, churches used CB and in some instances unlicensed FM to broadcast services to parishoners. After some legal wrangling both countries set aside some 27mHz frequencies for such use about four years ago.

I've seen Jesus do his act on Family Guy.
He's pretty good.
